Real-time embedded systems
These are some of the other things I do when I'm not working.
Subversion is an open-source revision control system, used mainly by software developers for keeping track of all the changes made to their work. Using revision control means that all changes are logged and annotated, so you can see what changed and when, and you can retrieve the project from any point in the past. For a sole developer it is extremely useful, and for team development it is indispensible.
TortoiseSVN is a Subversion client implemented as a Windows Explorer extension. You can see the status of your versioned files directly in Explorer, and everthing you need is accessible in the context menu.
I have been working on this project since mid 2004, and my main role is keeping the documentation up to date and answering questions on the project mailing list. It is a great community to work with, and a good place to learn from others.
St Edmund's is where I go every Sunday with the rest of my family. It is a small but lively church, and part of the Church in Wales. Mairwen (my wife) is very much involved with leading the worship, and we both play in the music group. The children are kept busy too within the flourishing Pathfinders and Explorers groups.
Improbable though it may sound for a small market town, we do have a Symphony Orchestra, with a membership covering a fair swathe of south-east Wales. I play the viola (bigger than a violin and a little deeper in tone). We make no claims to be the best players, but we usually put on three concerts a year and have a lot of fun in the process.
This site is based on a combination of two designs by Andreas Viklund which he has made available at Open Designs, and there are many other designs there which you can choose from.
Well I have to give a plug to LS Design Ltd where I now work.
