I can undertake digital and analogue circuit design. As an embedded systems specialist, I do most of my work with microcontroller-based systems, covering the range from 8-pin PIC/AVR circuits through to 32-bit Coldfire systems with SDRAM interface.
Peripheral circuits have included stepper motor drives, LCD interface, and lithium-ion battery chargers. I can also cater for low power designs where battery life is measured in years rather than weeks.
Surface mount prototyping and low volume production is often a problem for small businesses as many manufacturing companies are only interested in volume work. I can help you find suppliers who will source PCBs in just a few days (24h in an emergency), and assemble prototypes with a batch size of one if needed.
When your design gets to production, you may need some form of test jig to give confidence that the board is fully operational. This stage may also include programming of firmware. I have designed plug-in and bed-of-nails testers for a variety of circuits. Recent designs include rapid in-circuit programming of PIC devices without the need for a commercial PC-based programmer.
